The striking green color of emeralds comes from the presence of chromium in their mineral structure. This unique blend of blue and green hues is exclusive to emeralds and cannot be imitated by any other gemstone.
Which cut is the best for emeralds?
A special cut was developed just for emeralds: the emerald cut is a rectangular or square cut designed to enhance the gemstone's color and brilliance while protecting it from stress and damage caused by wear and tear. Since emeralds are more brittle than rubies or sapphires, the emerald cut can help protect their vulnerable corners. The round or oval cuts are also popular.
How is the weight of emeralds measured?

How to care for emerald jewelry?
Emeralds are relatively fragile in comparison to sapphires or rubies and should be handled with care. To clean emerald jewelry, soak a soft cloth in soapy water and gently wipe the stone.
