Even before a groom puts the wedding ring on the bride’s finger, there is a question that’s often asked–how to pair the wedding ring with the engagement ring? Should the two rings be worn on the same hand, even on the same finger, or should you move them to different fingers? Whichever option you choose, at KLENOTA Jewelry Studio, we design rings with a view to how they will go together and the way they can be combined in the future. If you are having trouble deciding on the rings, the expert staff at our studio will be happy to help you choose the perfect pair that’s exactly what you are after.

Some tips on how to wear a wedding and engagement ring

In practice, what happens most commonly is that we choose a wedding ring to go with an engagement ring we have already purchased. The other factor which is very important is how a woman plans to wear both rings after the wedding.

When both rings are worn on the ring finger of the left hand: This is a very popular option but requires more careful coordination. In order to create a harmonious impression, it’s better to choose the same color of gold and surface finish–glossy or matte. Generally speaking, rings with thinner bands are more suited to being worn together since they tend to look more elegant when paired together. Diamond eternity rings are also suitable when combining both rings on one finger. In this case, however, we recommend checking the height on the stone settings so that the rings don’t interfere with each other.

When the engagement ring is moved to the ring finger of the right hand: This is a very common solution when both of the rings differ in style. They could still be connected by certain details, such as the color of the metal or the surface finish but the wedding ring might also have a wider band or be more elaborate.

When the engagement ring is moved to the middle finger of the same hand: Layering multiple rings on one hand is a current fashion trend, but this is not a comfortable option for everyone. In this case, it's important to test out the engagement ring first, to see if it will fit well on another finger. Don’t forget that the middle finger tends to be slightly wider, so you may also need to have the size of the ring adjusted.

The perfect engagement

The KLENOTA Jewelry Studio range includes engagement and bridal sets that have been carefully designed by our jewelers in such a way that the rings complement each other in terms of design as well as proportions. We pair timeless engagement rings which feature diamonds or color gemstones with the types of wedding rings that accentuate their beauty. Take a look at the following options that represent three different ways to match the rings.

A diamond solitaire and an eternity wedding ring

An engagement ring with one distinctive diamond in a simple design called a solitaire is one of the most popular options for engagement rings. Solitaires pair beautifully with a diamond eternity ring which is set with smaller diamonds all the way around. We have used the elegant sparkle of diamonds as an element that connects the two rings in terms of their style in this luxe set which pairs a princess-cut diamond engagement ring with a half eternity wedding ring. When designing the rings, we also thought about how these rings would work together as a whole on the same hand. The solitaire diamond sits in its own “bed”, which means that the rings don't interfere with each other at all.

Unique shapes designed for layering

In the process of coordinating rings, we often choose interesting ring shapes that fit together and visually connect. This type of styling is very versatile since it allows the rings to be worn together or separately, creating a different effect each time. This rose gold set impresses with the intertwined theme of its band and diamonds. When paired together, the rings create the impression of a single piece of jewelry. This unique set of original rings with wavy bands is also a very popular and a stylish choice. The rings fit together naturally and create a fine silhouette that looks modern and timeless.

Chevron rings that can be worn in many different ways

With their characteristic and elegant V-shape, chevron rings are very much a current trend. Their dainty silhouette not only visually lengthens the fingers, but also allows for some lovely layering options. We've taken advantage of these qualities in our white gold bridal set, which features a pear-shaped royal blue sapphire as the central gemstone. Together the two rings form a unique combination that pairs the classic beauty of gemstones with the modern design of chevron rings.

Whether you're looking for elegance, unconventional design or layering options, engagement and bridal sets with matching rings allow you to wear both rings in perfect harmony. Explore the full range and coordinate your rings to create your perfect pair.
